Joining Us

The Admissions Policy of Billingshurst Primary School is common to all County Schools in West Sussex. The policy is outlined in the booklet “Information for Parents” which is published by the Authority. If you have not received a copy of this publication you may obtain one by contacting the Pupil Admissions Office (North). The school’s Starting School Policy is available on this website under ‘policies’.

Starting school, whether in the Foundation Stage (Reception) or at any time throughout the primary years, is a very important time for our children and we will always place great importance on making sure we get it right. For parents of children who will be starting in the Reception year there are meetings held in the preceding Summer Term during which you will be given information about the school’s organisation, meet various staff members, governors, and other parents, and be able to ask questions about your child’s first days at school.

Potential parents are very welcome to visit the school and should telephone the Headteacher for an appointment. All new parents and children are offered a tour of the school before your child starts and we will take time to answer any questions. You will be able to talk to the Headteacher and will be taken around the school by our ‘Tour Guides’ from Year 6. If your child is joining the school further up then the same opportunities exist for you and your child to visit and familiarise yourselves with the school.

All admissions are dealt with by the Admissions Department at West Sussex County Council:- Tel - 033 301 42903
